Chips and guacamole are a constant food craving for many. Guacamole is incredibly healthy, but tortilla chips? Not so much. Thankfully, we've found guacamole's crispy, protein-rich new partner: our very own crispy grass-fed beef jerky.
Guacamole is one of the most perfect dips ever created by mankind. The rich, creamy flavor of avocado blends perfectly with the sharp taste of onion, the tangy hint of lime, the spiciness of jalapeño, and is capped off with the citrus flavor of cilantro. Not only does it taste heavenly, but it's also very healthy. Avocados (the primary ingredient of guacamole) are a superfood that boast high quantities of vitamins and antioxidants, which include: vitamins C, E, K, and B-6, as well as riboflavin, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, and potassium.
The only problem is that guacamole isn't really meant to be eaten on its own. It's a dip (or food topping) that is most commonly paired with tortilla chips, which are unfortunately not very healthy. That's why when the suggestion of pairing our jerky with guacamole cropped up (on KetoConnect's YouTube review of us), we got very excited and decided to try it out.
What can I say? It's a perfect match made in heaven! What better way to eat guacamole, with its plethora of health benefits, than with chips that are virtually carb-free and instead, protein-heavy?
We highly recommend dipping your Bovino jerky in guacamole. And if you don't have guacamole near you, it's unbelievably easy to make from scratch. Here's a quick recipe for your reference:
- 1 ripe avocado (squishy, yet firm)
- 1 tsp lime juice
- 1 tbsp cilantro (chopped)
- 1/8 cup red onion (finely chopped)
- 1/4 jalapeño, including seeds (finely chopped)
Mash the avocados in a mixing bowl and mix the rest of the ingredients in. That's it!
